Mr Onwudike is a member of the European Society of Vascular Surgeons, The Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and
The European Venous Forum.

As an expert consultant, he has vast experience in all aspects of vascular surgery, especially varicose veins, limb and facial thread veins.

He is also a specialist in:

  • carotid surgery

  • bypasses for blocked arteries

  • aneurysms

  • lower limb revascularization

  • diabetic foot problems

  • hernia repair

  • Thoracic Outlet syndrome.

Mr Onwudike has a very special interest in excessive hand and underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) and facial blushing which he treats with the most modern surgical and non-surgical techniques including Botulinum Toxin injections (botox).

Research &
Training

Mr Onwudike’s research interests include quality of life and varicose veins, venous ulcers, and hyperhidrosis. He has published papers and presented in national and international meetings.

He is an accredited trainer and an examiner for the Inter-Collegiate Board of the Surgical Royal Colleges (MRCS) and the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations (FRCS Vascular Surgery) both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Career history

Mr Onwudike graduated in medicine from the University College Hospital Ibadan Nigeria.

His six-year higher surgical training in general and vascular surgery was centred in London within the North East Thames Deanery between 1993 and 1999. .

He was a Research Registrar in experimental vascular surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital where he studied ischaemia-reperfusion injury and Specialist Registrar in the Vascular units of Whipps Cross Hospital, University College London Hospitals including The Middlesex Hospital, St Bartholomew, and Royal London Hospitals.

Mr Onwudike also benefited from a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Foundation Hospital Marseilles, France. He was awarded the intercollegiate FRCS in general surgery with vascular sub specialisation in January 1999 and the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in June 1999.

Mr Onwudike is an honorary Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Medicine of the University of Bolton. He is an examiner/assessor for the exit examination in both vascular surgery and membership examination in general surgery.
